Special Notes:

  • The Junebug Information Center will be located on the corner of Main and New Streets all four nights; stop by with your questions and suggestions!
  • Junebug T shirts will be sold throughout June at Cai’s Café (420 Main Street); the Junebug Information Center (Main & New Streets) and the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce (323 Main Street).
  • Free parking is available each night of the festival from 6:00 – 10:00 pm in the Pearl Street Parking Garage, including accessible parking.

  • Live Glassblowing Demonstration @ Borough Hall (500 Main Street)
    Learn about the full process of glassblowing from East Falls Glassworks, Philadelphia’s only public access glassblowing studio. Participants will witness the creation of vases, ornaments, and other smaller pieces from start to finish.

    8:00 – 10:00 pm – Adults 21 and over will paint “Pink Paradise” in acrylic; includes a complimentary wine tasting ($30 each)

  • 4-on-1 Painters on Canvas: The Surrealist Vision on New Street
    Featuring four local artists who will be painting live: Easton Davy, Ed Wetzel, Billy Seccombe and Enrique Zaldivar.
  • Junebug Red Carpet Exclusive: Meet the CARBON Filmmaker! @ Alleyway next to Classic Travel - 483 Main St.
    Metuchen resident, Claire McClanahan, is the writer, producer and lead actor in a new independent feature film called CARBON. The movie was a finalist for the Tribeca Film Institute All-Access and Sloan Foundation Grants and is also a semi-finalist in the 2016 Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting competition.
    Claire will appear as a special exhibitor with this behind the scenes experience of her film, which focuses on ambition, motherhood, and human cloning, which is set to begin filming here in Metuchen in October! She will provide an all-access glimpse into the process of making a feature film and will share footage as well as learnings from the development and production stages.

    22-year-old Metuchen resident Quinn Shephard’s first feature film BLAME had its world premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in April.
    A screening of the film will take place at Metuchen High School on Friday June 23rd at 7pm; for information on how to buy tickets, go to: www.filmmetuchen.org.

  • Pottery Wheel Exhibit – On main street sidewalk between Carpet Maven (450 Main Street) Metuchen Savings Bank (442 Main Street)
    Local potter Kathryn Jerabek Davis will demonstrate how to use the potter's wheel to create functional forms like bowls and platters that we all know and recognize as well as sculptural pieces. If you are brave and don't mind a little clay, you may even get to try it yourself!
  • Dancing with Bubbles @ Borough Hall – 500 Main Street; Corner of Main and Middlesex Avenue Closing Junebug with an iridescent flair, children and adults are invited to help create giant bubbles . . . large enough to embrace an entire family!

    Window Gallery Competition
  • One of the ArtFest’s featured events, these window displays showcase the work of 20 established artists in highly visible locations in downtown Metuchen throughout June.
  • Our business partners offer their Main Street storefront windows as individual galleries, each displaying the work of a single artist during this carefully curated month-long exhibit.
  • Two curators representing the Brooklyn Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art will jury the galleries and award prizes at 7:30 pm on the Main Stage, Saturday, June 17th.
  • Metuchen Public Library – Junebug Art Gallery (480 Middlesex Avenue)
  • For the second year in a row, the Metuchen Public Library is hosting an exhibit of the works of Junebug artists throughout the month of June in the Library Gallery.
  • During the ArtFest on Saturday evenings, the Library Gallery will remain open until 8pm.
  • Rainy Weather

  • If it rains, most outdoor shows/performances/ demonstrations will be cancelled.
  • On June 17th, the back-up indoor location for the Junior Bug: Kids Zone activities will be the Metuchen Senior Center (15 Center Street)
