Junebug Venues

Visual and performing artists working in all media are invited to take part the 2017 Junebug ArtFest, which will be held from 6:00 – 10:00 pm every Saturday evening in June (June 3, 10, 17 and 24 ) throughout the streets of downtown Metuchen New Jersey. This annual event draws several hundred visitors and transforms our community into a month-long celebration of the arts!

Visual artist venues (the first three listed below) are juried by the Junebug ArtFest Committee or jurors chosen by the Committee (including the Metuchen Arts Council, Borough of Metuchen, or the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce).

Outdoor Sidewalk Exhibitors

Visual artists are invited to present and sell their work between 6:00 – 10:00 pm on Saturdays in June via our “open air” sidewalk exhibitor space. If accepted by the Junebug ArtFest Committee, participants will be assigned a sidewalk location in front of a participating Metuchen store / business. Exhibitors must provide their own table, may not use tents , and must ensure that all entranceways, sidewalks and all public thoroughfares remain easily accessible at all times. Please click here (will add link to the registration materials) to fill out an application.

Junebug Window Gallery Competition

This series of Main Street storefront displays is a collaborative effort between the Junebug ArtFest Committee and participating business owners to showcase the work of established artists throughout the month of June. Selected artists will work in concert with business owners, and in some locations collaboratively with fellow artists, to creatively develop the donated window space to showcase their selected artwork. Museum Directors, Gallerists, and other professionals in the visual arts will be invited to tour the Galleries and award prizes. Please click here to fill out an application.

Metuchen Public Library – Junebug Art Gallery

A first for Junebug, the Metuchen Public Library has agreed to host an exhibit of the works of Junebug artists. Approximately 24 applicants will be selected to display 1 to 2 pieces (depending on finished sizes and space availability) throughout June in the Library Gallery. The sale of displayed artwork is not permitted during the exhibit. Please click here to fill out an application.
